Overview

Our established, century-old company serving the hospitality and furniture industries is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Certified Welder for our East Baltimore location. This is a part-time position working fewer than 30 hours per week, offering an excellent opportunity to apply technical expertise in a fast-paced, air-conditioned environment that values craftsmanship, safety, quality, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, stick, and laser welding to join metal components accurately and efficiently.
  • Weld aluminum using MIG and TIG processes.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Set up, start, operate, and shut down welding equipment safely.
  • Inspect welded components to ensure they meet applicable specifications and quality standards.
  • Notify a supervisor of mechanical, equipment, or material issues.
  • Grind, finish, and clean welds as required while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Pack finished goods into the correct boxes and packaging.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and maintain a safe workplace.
  • Assist with other manufacturing and fabrication tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of professional welding or metal-fabrication experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Demonstrated ability to weld aluminum using TIG and MIG processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA workplace-safety standards.
  • Experience operating high-end fabrication equipment and working with complex assemblies.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, welding codes, and quality-control procedures.
  • Strong understanding of heat control, distortion, and metallurgy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle.
