Overview

USK Manufacturing, Inc. specializes in precision sheet metal fabrication, machining, and mechanical assembly. They are looking for a positive self-motivated individual to join their fabrication team as a Precision TIG Welder, primarily working with thin-gauge metals and alloys based on strict engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on thin-gauge steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, welding symbols, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to plan weld sequences.
  • Utilize standard fabrication tools to pre-fit components accurately prior to welding.
  • Visually inspect 100% of welds for undercut, porosity, and proper penetration before submitting to QA.
  • Clean, deburr, and prep joint surfaces properly to prevent contamination.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of dedicated TIG welding experience in a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong experience welding thin-gauge materials (e.g., .030" to .125") and managing heat input to control warping.
  • Ability to pass an AWS D17.1 (Aerospace) or AWS D1.6 (Stainless Steel) weld test upon interview.
  • A sharp eye for detail, patience, and a refusal to cut corners.
