Overview

Artistic Entertainment Services (AES) is a premier provider of quality products and services to the entertainment and theming industry, offering a rewarding career in a family-based culture. They are seeking a passionate Fabricator/Welder to construct and repair structures made of various metal materials.

Responsibilities

  • Follow fabrication drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to build structures and mechanical component assemblies.
  • Uphold and maintain a clean and safe work environment at all work locations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other materials.
  • Use common metal working tools including wet saws, grinders, MIG welders, and TIG welders.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and managers.
  • Fabricate and install scenic displays, signage, stages, and event items.
  • Work 8+ hour days and occasional weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Verifiable TIG, MIG, and STICK welding experience.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in fabrication.
  • Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings.
  • Regular use of a variety of both hand-held and motorized tools and machinery.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and understand safety regulations.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
