Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Welder I for their 2nd shift operations in North Berwick, ME. The role involves performing hand fusion and machine welding processes to fabricate or repair parts, contributing to the future of aerospace and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform hand and/or machine welding and associated metal joining processes.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and verbal/written instructions.
  • Make required settings to equipment and gas flow for quality welds.
  • Prepare parts for welding and align details.
  • Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and complete welding cycles.
  • Utilize X-Ray film or black light processes to determine repair needs.
  • Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Perform routine servicing of equipment following specified procedures.
  • Refer difficult problems to supervisor or working leader.
  • Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate in a related field.
  • Certification in a minimum of two metal groups preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility around shifts and ability to manage multiple priorities.
