Position Title: Steel Welder Wage: $24.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Steel Welder position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.  Steel Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Setups and operates welders to hand weld products in a safe, efficient, quality, and ergonomic manner. - Adjusts welders as needed to maintain part quality. - Capable of setting own machine for materials welded, producing little smoke or splatter. - Produces acceptable-quality welds with good workmanship and very few rejects. - Consistently produces at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision. - Has ability to produce products in fixtures and which components are required for the products. - Produces high quality welds with good workmanship and minimal rejects. - Completes own work to print requirements. - Reads and understands prints and symbols. - Able to manufacture products to specifications without a fixture. This is accomplished using weld table, prints, tapes measure, protractor, clamps, etc. - Professionally communicates production issues, seeks clarification and resolution from front line employees and management. - Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements. - Performs other duties as assigned. Steel Welder Requirements: - Previous manufacturing experience preferred. - MIG welding experience. - Proficiently welds Galvanized steel, Carbon Steel, and Stainless steel. - Ability to reach a tape measure in fractions and decimals. - Must be able to review and interpret symbols, part numbers, tolerance, data critical to quality and weld placements on blueprints. - Ability to work independently to complete work to print requirement. - Can apply basic math to determine dimensions needed. - Balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches to work overhead. - Walks or stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks. - Pushes and pulls materials, fingers and grasps parts and components. - Exerts up to 60 pounds of force frequently. - Pays close visual acuity to perform inspections and operate machines. - Tolerates extremes in weather and machine temperature. - Tolerates loud noise. - Extensive use with power/hand tools. - Requires visual acuity to access details (I.e., prints, parts, work orders, etc.) - Requires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and/or quickly and understood. - Requires the ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds to understand instructions and/or directions.
