Overview

At Black Label Steel, we don’t just build structures—we create lasting landmarks. We’re searching for a Structural Steel Field Welder/Ironworker who’s ready to bring precision, craftsmanship, and dedication to active job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Erect and weld large-scale structural steel components on-site.
  • Install steel beams, columns, and handrails using proper rigging and hoisting equipment.
  • Align, position, and secure parts and assemblies accurately, following detailed erection drawings.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for precise fit-up of structural components.
  • Use cutting torches, grinders, and other tools for field modifications or repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage.
  • Conduct regular inspections of welds to ensure alignment, integrity, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and hoists to move and position materials.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding machines and tools for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to meet construction schedules.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field welding experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Flux Core and stick welding for structural steel.
  • Strong work history and proven reliability.
  • NR 232 Certification.
  • OSHA 10 and related equipment certifications.
  • Solid understanding of standard construction practices, rigging, and hoisting.
  • AWS D1.1 Certification.
  • D1.5 Certification.
  • Good driving record preferred.
  • Self-starter who can arrive on time and work independently.
  • Ability to commute or relocate prior to starting work.

What you'll be running
