Job Description

Overview

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining plant industrial equipment and machinery. The maintenance welder will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of equipment to include conveyor systems, shakers, gearboxes, fixed plant equipment, and other mobile equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects machinery and equipment to identify any hazards or issues requiring welding services.
  • Determines the reasons for any malfunctions of metal components, and creates a welding maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Repairs machinery and equipment so that they remain at full functioning capacity with a moderate degree of supervision.
  • Reviews blueprints to understand the placement of equipment and machinery to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
  • Keeps records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used.
  • Ensures all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs.
  • Participates in equipment maintenance, moves, and installation projects as needed.
  • May be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required to support overall team operations and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Vocational training or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year related experience.
  • Mechanical analysis.
  • Design tools.
  • Mechanical controls.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • OSHA and MSHA regulations.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Time management.
