Overview

Our client is a leading chemical manufacturer located just south of Boston, MA, seeking a skilled Permanent Pipe Welder (TIG) with a strong background in welding carbon steel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of pipe welding experience and a passion for precision, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Performing TIG welding operations on carbon steel pipes in accordance with specified procedures and standards.
  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the welding requirements and set up the welding equipment accordingly.
  • Conducting inspections of welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintaining and repairing all welding equipment and fixtures.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of protective equipment.
  • Collaborating with the team to troubleshoot and solve welding issues.
  • Ensuring work is done accurately and efficiently to minimize waste and downtime.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to maintain current knowledge in the field.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in TIG welding, specifically with carbon steel and tig root.
  • A proven track record of interpreting and following blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items.
  • A valid welding certification would be a significant advantage.
