JCL Energy is a people-first electrical transformer provider with over 150 years of combined experience. The Shop Technician role involves maintenance and repair of electrical transformers in a customer-centric and high-energy workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on electrical transformers and related equipment.
• Inspect, clean, test, and assemble components in a shop environment.
• Operate heavy equipment and forklifts safely to move and position transformers and materials.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete work orders and documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow.

Requirements

• Strong Maintenance & Repair skills for electrical transformers and related equipment.
• Experience with Heavy Equipment operation in a shop or industrial environment.
• Effective Communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and team members.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Safe and proficient Forklift Operation abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical or mechanical fields is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, safety guidelines, and basic schematics.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and work with heavy equipment and materials.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Previous experience in a shop, manufacturing, or industrial setting is preferred but not required.

• This is a full-time, on-site role based in Alvin, TX.
