Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Technician – Level 4 to join their Space Sector team in Redondo Beach, CA. The role involves assisting mechanical engineers with various mechanical and electromechanical engineering tasks, including assembly and fabrication of components.

Responsibilities

  • Handle delicate flight hardware using proper ESD and contamination control best practices.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents.
  • Conduct space flight bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections.
  • Perform assembly tasks using specific process requirements to support daily assignments.
  • Utilize calibrated tools and shelf-life materials to perform assembly operations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • Knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly and operations using blueprints, engineering drawings, or written instructions.
  • Experience working with spacecraft composite structures and performing fabrication tasks.
  • Experience using MS Office tools and other software.
  • Ability to work in high bays and cleanrooms.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work off hours and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
