Overview

Fellowes Brands is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic II for the 2nd shift to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair production equipment, and ensure a safe work environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine duties of preventative maintenance on plant production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant production equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor equipment performance and perform general housekeeping.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Provide suggestions for improving departmental processes and performance goals.
  • Work from prints, sketches, instructions, manuals, and schematics.
  • Operate, repair, and maintain all production equipment.
  • Assist with machine set-ups for production as necessary.
  • Work with little or no supervision and take ownership of tasks.
  • Perform duties involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic applications.
  • Fabricate, develop, assemble, and install equipment.
  • Perform routine safety checks on production equipment.
  • Report equipment problems and lockout/tagout situations to the Supervisor.
  • Account for tasks and parts usages in MP2.
  • Minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Successfully pass mechanical aptitude exams.
  • Complete lift truck operation tests and maintain appropriate licensing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Maintain consistent and acceptable attendance.
  • Available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
  • Ability to fulfill essential job functions in a safe manner.
  • Abide by all safety policies and procedures.
  • Meet all Mechanic I qualifications.
  • Prior mechanical and manufacturing experience with at least five years in the field.
  • Sufficient keyboard and PC literacy to complete work orders in MP2.

Additional Information

  • This is a second shift position from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • The hiring range for this position in Itasca is $25-32 per hour, with a $0.60 Shift Differential.
