Overview

AEIS is seeking AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) to support infrastructure and structural projects in the New York and New Jersey Metro Areas. The role involves performing inspections in fabrication shops and contributing to the development of welding quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and destructive weld inspections to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.5, ASME, and DOT standards.
  • Monitor welding operations and ensure procedures and personnel are qualified.
  • Identify and document weld defects and non-conformities.
  • Conduct MT and UT inspections where certified.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and generate professional reports using proprietary software.
  • Verify and review WPSs, PQRs, and Welder Certifications.
  • Contribute to quality documentation systems.
  • Work closely with project managers, welding engineers, and NDT staff.
  • Participate in process optimization reviews and corrective action reports.

Requirements

  • AWS CWI Certification (Active)
  • 1–10 years of hands-on structural welding inspection experience
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written)
  • Basic math and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction plans
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel between multiple fabrication shop locations
