Overview

EZARC is seeking a highly skilled Ironworker (Welder) to join their growing team in Utah. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a desire to learn and progress in their career while working collaboratively to achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret steel erection and shop drawings.
  • Create layouts on concrete and existing structures according to drawings.
  • Shakeout steel in order of erection sequence per drawings.
  • Prepare hardware needed for materials to be erected.
  • Determine proper rigging slings and hardware according to load weight.
  • Ensure all rigging tools are safe and reliable before use.
  • Establish effective communication with crane operators and crew members.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective material and notify Foreman.
  • Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or revisions.
  • Work alongside a crew to erect structural steel members.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety culture.
  • Exhibit leadership skills to perform tasks on tight deadlines.
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving.
  • Select rigging gear according to load weight.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts for welding.
  • Operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods.
  • Mark or tag material with job numbers and identifying marks.
  • Prepare material surfaces to be welded.
  • Clean or degrease parts using various methods.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling.
  • Gouge metals using the air-arc gouging process.
  • Preheat workpieces before welding or bending.
  • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts.
  • Hoist steel beams and columns into place using cranes.
  • Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy materials.
  • Erect metal or precast concrete components for structures.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to relocate to Utah.
  • 4+ years of experience as an Ironworker.
  • Experience with tight deadlines and strict safety requirements.
  • Ability to operate a telescopic forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift.
  • Ability to weld 3G and 4G with different welding applications.
  • Any OSHA/MSHA or other safety certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Takes pride in accomplishing quality work.
  • Great communication skills, especially with crane or forklift operators.
  • Discretion in phone usage.
  • Comfortable with working at heights.
  • Experience in bull-rigging is a plus.
  • Heavy industrial experience in shutdowns or turnaround is a plus.
