Overview

The Ironworker Journeyperson position in Chandler, AZ involves planning, laying out, and performing structural steel erection and fabrication work according to industry standards. Sundt is a 100% employee-owned contractor focused on building long-term prosperity for clients and employee-owners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lay-out and perform all types of structural steel erection and fabrication work.
  • Continually seek opportunities to share knowledge and teach others.
  • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks and methods.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
  • Produce high quality work safely and productively.
  • Provide feedback to ensure availability of materials, tools, and information.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
  • Must have a minimum of three to six plus years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • In-depth understanding of the ironworker trade is required.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
