Overview

OSW Equipment & Repair, LLC, a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, is the largest truck body and trailer manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. As a Mechanical Assembler II, you will contribute to the company's success by troubleshooting and installing mechanical items on dump trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities

  • Drill holes in steel frames and bolt on parts.
  • Run/feed electrical wiring and hoses.
  • Zip tie wires and take accurate measurements.
  • Perform electric and hydraulic connection/plumbing.
  • Have a basic understanding of air systems and operations.
  • Perform basic welding.
  • Install consoles.
  • Install pumps.
  • Install large assemblies such as tanks and saddles.
  • Touch up paint.
  • Outfit body electrical.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a mechanical field with hydraulic system repairs.
  • Must be comfortable with electrical troubleshooting.
  • Must have wrenching experience.
  • Must be comfortable using power tools, pneumatic wrenches, grinders, and air tools.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to read blueprints or schematics.
  • Ability to learn and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calculate differences in measurements.
  • Ability to weld in flat and vertical planes is preferred.
  • Leadership skills desired.

Additional Information

  • This is a non-exempt, hourly position paid on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5AM - 3:30PM, with possible overtime on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
  • Location: On Site – 1655 W 10th PL, Tempe, AZ 85281.
  • Travel: Very minimal to none.
