This entry-level position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on material handling equipment and facility support systems in a distribution center environment. Responsibilities

  • Ensure that spare parts usage, inventory, and work order actions are accurately tracked and documented according to Company policy.
  • Assist with DC maintenance requirements such as refrigeration systems, plumbing, building lighting, welding, dock doors, air systems, racking, tote washer, and air spray painting.
  • Maximize availability of all classes of batteries by managing charging cycles and battery rotation.
  • Perform inspections and cleaning; do specific gravity checks; evaluate cable serviceability and repair damage.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the required aspects of the McLane Maintenance Connection database.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance.
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience with material handling equipment.
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Experience with distribution center industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, tuggers, and carts.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Basic computer skills with experience in a maintenance database such as MP2, DataStream 7i, or Maintenance Connection.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
