Overview

Sonoco Products Company is a global leader in packaging solutions, offering a position for a Millwright in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The role involves maintaining and repairing machinery while ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

• Complies with established job safety practices and procedures.
• Supports and follows food safety system guidelines.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, erects, moves, and dismantles machinery and auxiliary production equipment.
• Inspects job site and equipment, analyzes blueprints and schematics.
• Selects and transports tools, machinery, and materials needed for assignments.
• Fabrics sheet metal and structural units as needed.
• Splices ropes and cables as required.
• Performs preventative maintenance for building and grounds.
• Repairs and maintains all assigned machines and equipment.
• Maintains an organized and clean work area.
• Communicates pertinent information to the next shift.
• Performs clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
• Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures.
• Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department.
• Works assigned schedule or 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs duties without posing a direct threat to anyone or property.
• Communicates effectively, reads, comprehends, and follows instructions.
• Assures and maintains safe working conditions while enforcing safety rules.
• Follows company policies, procedures, practices, and standards.

Requirements

• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education or equivalent work experience.
• Job-related experience for 5 - 7 years minimum.

Additional Information

• Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania
• Shift: M-F 1st Shift (7am-3pm) with additional overtime as needed.
• Sign on bonus $1500.
