Overview

At Stoke, we are building Nova, a fully reusable launch vehicle aimed at reducing costs and increasing the availability of space transportation. Our mission-driven team values collaboration and ownership, and we seek a Structures Fabricator to help fabricate high-quality rocket structures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong technical competence in precision metal fabrication tools, fit up, and welding.
  • Fabricate, weld, and assemble sheet metal and machined components into complex assemblies.
  • Perform high-quality TIG welding for thin-gauge materials.
  • Improve the quality and throughput of fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Build and maintain an efficient workspace focused on continuous improvement.
  • Source, create, maintain, and improve tools, consumables, and equipment.
  • Maintain stringent quality standards for parts, processes, and people.
  • Execute assigned work to completion and collaborate with engineering and quality teams.
  • Communicate clearly to identify competency gaps and challenge norms.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace precision metal fabrication, forming, cutting, and fitting.
  • Demonstrated experience with TIG, MiG, Laser welding, or other aerospace welding techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions for non-standard fitments and challenging fabrication conditions.
  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to work second shift and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Able to withstand repetitive movements.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
