Overview

UE Manufacturing is now hiring a Welder I in Oklahoma City, OK. The Shipyard Welder will perform structural and pipe welding assignments while maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural and pipe welding assignments.
  • Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding barge and boat repair areas.
  • Complete necessary passes to produce full penetration welds.
  • Use various tools to operate welding and grinding equipment.
  • Consult with foreman or supervisor regarding installation or repair problems.
  • Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files and portable grinders.
  • Tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipyard environment.
  • Ability to speak clearly; bilingual preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in safety equipment usage.
  • High performance and a strong team player.
