Overview

Covestro is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to support the Refrigeration Group and various Business Units with troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating process refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with anhydrous ammonia and will work 12-hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and calibrate Process Refrigeration Systems.
  • Perform shutdown maintenance & repairs on Process Refrigeration Systems.
  • Provide maintenance, operation and emergency response for Process Refrigeration Machines.
  • Perform the transfer of refrigerants and refrigerant oils to meet Environmental Regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with EPA regulatory requirements regarding ammonia emissions tracking & CFC refrigerant tracking.
  • Respond to and mitigate leaks on Process Refrigeration Machines containing ammonia.
  • Read & understand P&ID’s & Electrical Control Diagrams.
  • Execute preventative/predictive maintenance and unit readings using SKF software.
  • Write Level 2 Work Plans for ammonia related work on Process Refrigeration Machines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of industrial or commercial large tonnage refrigeration systems.
  • 3 years of experience maintaining industrial or commercial refrigeration control systems.
  • Eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Additional Information

  • Qualified candidates may receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus upon hiring, subject to eligibility and retention requirements.
