Overview

The Temple Facilities Assistant 2 position is a part-time role at the Mesa AZ Temple, focused on maintaining the temple's physical facilities and ensuring a positive experience for patrons. The role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing various mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems under the direction of the Temple Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure computerized heating and air conditioning equipment operates at maximum efficiency.
• Service complex water treating equipment for boilers and culinary water systems.
• Conduct water treatment tests to maintain proper pH, hardness levels, and conductivity.
• Service and repair laundry equipment and all kitchen systems to assure optimum operation.
• Maintain baptismal font filtering and water purification systems.
• Maintain the electrical system, including high voltage wiring and lighting systems.
• Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems including the Temple Recording System.
• Service and adjust projection sound and communication systems.
• Make necessary modifications to temple mechanical or electrical systems as needed.
• Participate in preparation of yearly facilities budget process and time-card submission.

Requirements

• Completion of 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade plus 4 years of experience in that trade.
• 2 years of experience in physical plant operation including skilled trades such as electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, and mechanics.
• Shop organization and inventory management skills.
• Basic computer skills and licenses as required by law.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
