Overview

Everett Ship Repair is a premier ship repair facility in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in repair, maintenance, and conversion services for commercial vessels. They are seeking an Experienced Pipe Welder Journeyman to create pipe spools and assemblies for new construction and repair projects.

Responsibilities

  • Weld piping spools, pipe runs, and manifolds using primarily stick welding processes.
  • Weld pipe seams in various positions for different joint types.
  • Perform welds using specific welding rods and techniques.
  • Conduct mirror welds in 6 GR situations as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Grind and prep weld seams for tacking and final inspection.
  • Set up and adjust arc welder for various welding tasks.
  • Perform Air Arc operations or grinding to remove bad welds.
  • Weld on multiple alloys including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper nickel.
  • Collaborate as a team member.
  • Complete other tasks as directed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of shipyard safety practices and vessel terminology.
  • High School Education or equivalent or vocational education.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Team player.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Pipe Welder.
  • Preferred 6-G ABS or USCG Certifications in various welding types.
  • Preferred marine pipe welding experience.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work at heights of 60 ft.
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and work in small workspaces.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
