Overview

The Combination Welder will weld, fabricate and assist pipe fitters in the installation of varying types of industrial pipe into the project's piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Weld, fabricate, and assist pipe fitters in installation of industrial pipe.
  • Select equipment and plan layouts, assembly, and welding.
  • Layout, position, align, cut, assemble, and fit metal components.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using various welding techniques.
  • Weld metal materials to piping systems using appropriate procedures.
  • Identify all equipment for job and process.
  • Identify all safety risks and requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have 4+ years welding experience.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a weld test.
  • Must have the ability to weld in 2g, 4g, and 6g conditions.
  • Must be able to Stick and Tig weld on Pipe.
  • Must have experience welding multiple types of pipes including carbon steel, stainless, and chrome.
  • Must be able to assist pipe fitters in pipe installation, preparation, and fabrication.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • TWIC required.
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License with minimal infractions.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities.
