Overview

MasTec Utility Services delivers critical infrastructure construction and engineering services for power delivery, gas, and water customers. The Gas Skilled Laborer/Groundman supports the crew by assisting with the installation and repair of gas lines.

Responsibilities

  • Gather materials for the job that day and ensure the crew has everything required.
  • Distribute material at the job site.
  • Hand locate existing utilities.
  • Hand grade landscape areas.
  • Safely operate equipment such as rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, and asphalt paving machine.
  • Utilize equipment after the Operator digs the ditch line for gas mains.
  • Lift heavy natural gas pipelines for installation when needed.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of gas utility construction experience.
  • 2 or more years of gas utility construction experience preferred.
