Overview

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to contribute to innovative power projects across North America. The role involves high-quality design engineering work, focusing on various power systems and collaborating with a talented team to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Draft sketches, piping and instrument diagrams, or model 3D equipment items for power plant systems.
  • Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards.
  • Adhere to schedules and work assignments for successful project completion.
  • Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and team members on projects.
  • Train and advise interns or new graduates.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years’ related design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Drafting and Design or related discipline.
  • Proficient in basic computer programs including MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of drafting software including MicroStation, Autodesk, SmartPlant.

Additional Information

  • Position can be based in Lenexa, KS; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; or Phoenix/Tempe, AZ.
  • For roles in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in-office arrangement once the new office is established.
