Overview

This position is for a Senior Mechanical Designer 1 in the Nuclear Power sector, offering a hybrid work schedule. The role involves working with engineering and design teams to develop mechanical layout drawings and solve design issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3-D model.
  • Design mechanical systems and troubleshoot various mechanical design issues.
  • Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate mechanical design schematics.
  • Act as the Mechanical design team lead for detailed design phases.
  • Coordinate and guide other designers and project team members.
  • Independently plan and execute design deliverables.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
  • Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.

Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
  • Ten or more years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
  • Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models.
  • Experience in reviewing mechanical equipment and coordinating deliverables.
  • Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.
