Job Description
Overview
This position is for a Senior Mechanical Designer 1 in the Nuclear Power sector, offering a hybrid work schedule. The role involves working with engineering and design teams to develop mechanical layout drawings and solve design issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3-D model.
- Design mechanical systems and troubleshoot various mechanical design issues.
- Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate mechanical design schematics.
- Act as the Mechanical design team lead for detailed design phases.
- Coordinate and guide other designers and project team members.
- Independently plan and execute design deliverables.
- Conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
- Mentor less experienced drafters and designers.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Ten or more years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
- Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models.
- Experience in reviewing mechanical equipment and coordinating deliverables.
- Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.
