Overview

AC Corp, a Crete United company, is looking for an experienced Welder to join their Fabrication team in Raleigh, NC. This hands-on position involves using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to fabricate custom equipment and components, emphasizing quality work and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints to create cut list and material needed.
  • Pull material from stock.
  • Cut, bend, fit and tack materials.
  • Clean up welds using wire brushes and grinders.
  • Operate shear, press brakes, rollers, etc.
  • May use forklift to move material.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of TIG/MIG welding experience, with stainless steel and aluminum experience being a plus.
  • Must have worked in a sheet metal shop.
  • Knowledge of weld symbols is required.
  • Must have at least 2 years of metal fabrication experience.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Must have a can-do attitude.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
