Overview

Boeing is seeking a skilled Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Customer Support Operations Center in Seal Beach, CA, supporting all in-service Boeing commercial airplane models. The role involves developing structural repairs and collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Develops structural repairs on all Boeing and MD series models.
  • Develops static and fatigue analyses for primary and secondary structures.
  • Collaborates with customers via verbal and written communications.
  • Communicates with Boeing and customer executive leadership.
  • Performs review of customer requests and determines the best avenue for resolution.
  • Provides repair solutions and approval forms to customers.
  • Collaborates with multiple Boeing teams to develop repair solutions.
  • Reviews outgoing customer messages to ensure content and quality.
  • Initiates proactive repair solutions across the Boeing fleet.
  • Analyzes and develops substantiation packages for repairs and/or fly-on limits.
  • Researches technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Assesses incoming customer communications to resolve potential fleet safety issues.
  • Helps customers keep their aircraft flying safely by addressing urgent 'Aircraft On Ground' (AOG) issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • 9+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (preferred).
  • 3+ years experience working with composite and/or metallic structures (preferred).
  • 3+ years of aircraft design and/or repair experience (preferred).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and writing (preferred).
  • Experience with Boeing aircraft data (preferred).
  • Experience with CSW, IAS, and other BCA tools (preferred).
  • Experience working with and supporting customers (e.g. Airlines, Operators, Lessors) (preferred).
  • Prior experience with AOG resolution (preferred).
  • Leading structural analysis teams (preferred).
  • Damage Tolerance analysis (preferred).
