Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR)

Overview

This position is located at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach and involves executing maintenance-related tasks requiring skills in various trades.

Responsibilities

• Performs work in at least two trades for maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.
• Makes plumbing repairs including removing, cleaning, resealing, and replacing defective parts or units.
• Installs water heaters, garbage disposal units, faucets, and sinks.
• Measures, cuts, and constructs or repairs wood or wood substitute items.
• Performs standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying.
• Observes required safety, sanitation, and hazardous waste disposal rules and regulations.
• Operates vehicles to transport tools and materials to work site.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation.
• Requires prolonged standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
• Lifts, carries, and sets up materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Possession of a valid state driver's license.
• Two years of experience demonstrating knowledge in applicable trades.
