Overview

GFT is seeking a creative and talented Structural Design Engineer for immediate employment in Mechanicsburg, PA, Valley Forge, PA, or Downtown Philadelphia. The structural team focuses on creating efficient and innovative solutions for structural systems, contributing to a sustainable built environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review structural design and analysis calculations for steel, concrete, and other materials.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings and documents for various structures.
• Develop comprehensive contract documents, including plans, details, and technical specifications.
• Review and respond to construction submittals, such as shop drawings and RFIs.
• Conduct structural field observations and assessments for existing and new structures.
• Prepare clear engineering reports summarizing analyses, findings, and recommendations.
• Develop and interpret finite element models to evaluate complex structural behavior.
• Apply strong technical expertise in steel and concrete design.
• Demonstrate broad knowledge of structural engineering principles and building codes.
• Utilize understanding of applicable codes and design standards to ensure quality.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills and manage multiple priorities.
• Take initiative to identify solutions and improve design efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively as a team-oriented contributor.
• Maintain focus on quality, schedule, and budget throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering is required.
• E.I.T required, P.E. preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a structural design engineer.
• Familiarity with structural engineering analysis and design software.
• Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT.
