Overview

The Welder position involves performing MIG welding processes on various structural steel components in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in MIG welding processes on structural steel components.
  • Understand and follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate welder settings, gun speed, and gas flow based on bead conditions.
  • Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
  • Decide on adjustments or manipulations needed for welding.
  • Determine necessary repairs for pin holes and burn through.
  • Train and teach proper welding procedures according to job standards.
  • Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment.
  • Maintain specified bead shape, size, and penetration quality.
  • Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences correct.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices in the work area.
