Overview

The Welder/Fabricator role at Epiroc USA LLC involves operating cranes, fabricating products, and maintaining welding tools and equipment to meet quality and production standards. Epiroc is a global leader in developing and manufacturing hydraulic attachment tools and equipment for various industries including mining and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed.
  • Set-up gas-shield, mig-weld and weld parts to job specifications.
  • Remove rough spots from castings using portable powered grinder and hand file.
  • Position metal components in assembly using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
  • Lift and position components on assembly table using electric crane, jacks and shims.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts and weld various metal parts together.
  • Operate various equipment necessary to fabricate including jigs, fixtures, and grinders.
  • Receive instructions, prints and work orders for the job and plan details of working procedure.
  • Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals.
  • Build up worn or defective surfaces and keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy duty machining/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measure and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated skill level of wire feed (MIG) welding.
  • Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
  • Ability to layout parts using weld fixtures.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills.
