The Millwright position at West Fraser involves a variety of technical tasks related to the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, requiring expertise in diagnostics and mechanical systems. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment using technical diagnostics.
  • Start and operate equipment to verify corrections of malfunctions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and lubricating equipment.
  • Repair and maintain industrial equipment including conveying systems and major machine centers.
  • Read and understand technical drawings and printed instructions.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists and other tools.
  • Adjust mechanisms and align machines using various tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools.
  • Remain current with technical changes by attending training classes.
  • Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years or more of experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication.
