Job Description

Overview

Fortin Ironworks is hiring a full-time Welder/Fabricator to join their growing team. They seek a dependable and motivated individual who takes pride in producing quality work in a fast-paced fabrication shop.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately.
  • Grind, sand, and finish welds to company quality standards.
  • Read blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal components.
  • Operate fabrication equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.

It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
