Overview

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) is seeking a Welder to work at their Milwaukee Service Center, focusing on equipment setup and all-position welding for power generation equipment. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and operational excellence while adhering to engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding, fitting, and assembly of components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, tools, fixtures, and heat-treating equipment as required.
  • Prepare materials and components for welding and assembly, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Inspect work during and after fabrication to verify dimensional accuracy and weld quality; identify and report defects or rework needs.
  • Grind, finish, and repair welds as required to meet quality and appearance standards.
  • Maintain production and quality standards while following established welding procedures and checklists.
  • Operate overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and fork trucks safely in accordance with training and company policies.
  • Identify and report equipment, material, or process issues and assist with basic equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Technical or trade school training in a welding field preferred.
  • 0-2 years prior experience in various welding processes.
  • 0-2 years prior work experience in a manufacturing / construction setting.
  • Able to operate, or learn to operate overhead cranes and fork trucks.
  • Capable of using various measuring tools.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and weld specifications.
