Overview

The Welder position involves performing welding and fabrication to repair and maintain plant equipment while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication to repair and maintain plant equipment
  • Safely operate welding machines, cutting torches, and hand tools
  • Inspect equipment and welds to ensure quality and operational reliability
  • Identify repair needs and support maintenance activities to reduce downtime
  • Follow all safety standards and work collaboratively with plant teams

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding safely and accurately
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
