Overview

SA Recycling is seeking a Welder responsible for repairing and maintaining metal recycling equipment, fabricating and joining metals, and adhering to safety standards. The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and emphasizes attention to detail and knowledge of metal properties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repair and maintenance assignments for a metal recycling shredder and other industrial equipment.
  • Welds various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment.
  • Cuts, trims, fits, and fabricates metal components to fit specific dimensions.
  • Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts.
  • Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
  • Works from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; graduation from a trade school preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials.
  • Recycling industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to safely work at varying heights, in tight quarters, and varying positions.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
