Overview

The Tank Welder position in Nederland, TX involves performing welding and grinding functions for tank and specialty vessel construction. The role requires adherence to safety standards and high moral conduct while producing quality welds and maintaining communication with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.
• Represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Efficiently produce quality welds.
• Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds.
• Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding job site issues and concerns.
• Comply with all Matrix safety policies and programs.
• Identify and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize safety hazards.

Requirements

• Tank building experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening.
• Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses.
• Must complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training.
• Must possess a valid TWIC card.
• Site may require fire retardant clothing.
• Maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair for proper respirator/face mask sealing.
• Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate.
• Must be willing to work frequent overtime.

Additional Information

• Must be able to perform tasks at heights.
• Work includes pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
• Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time, often inside confined spaces.
• Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures.
