Overview

Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Holdings and backed by Berkshire Hathaway, provides full-service railcar repair and maintenance across North America. The Railcar Repair Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of tank cars, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance and perform necessary repairs.
  • Meet customer expectations and requirements to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete all necessary invoicing, inspection, and work order information.
  • Maintain all required certifications and demonstrate familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform basic railcar repairs and inspections.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must work safely and follow proper procedures.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
