Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic A position involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment during a 12-hour overnight shift. The role requires technical skills in a regulated environment, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
  • Document all work performed and comply with cGMP standards.
  • Detect and report faulty operations and defective materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Perform general building maintenance as needed.
  • Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Provide coverage for other mechanics as needed.
  • Contribute ideas for maintenance process improvements.
  • Stay compliant with training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED required; apprenticeship or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years maintenance mechanic experience in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematics for technical work.
  • Knowledge in various skilled-trade areas such as plumbing, electrical, and welding.
  • Able to stand or kneel for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills and technology aptitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to achieve aseptic gowning certification.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, lock out/tag out (LOTO), and arc flash.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
