The Maintenance Mechanic will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, ensuring systems operate at peak condition.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with a preventative maintenance program including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, visual inspections, minor repairs, and calibrations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform major mechanical repairs such as changing motors, pumps, gearboxes, belts, sprockets, and pulleys.
  • Conduct root-cause fault diagnostics on mechanical systems to identify and correct failures.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Address and repair urgent breakdowns quickly while maintaining safety standards.
  • Prioritize repairs of urgent safety or food safety concerns.
  • Ensure safety for self and others entering the work area.
  • Communicate daily with the maintenance team for timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform complete daily inspections of all aspects of production lines.
  • Maintain accurate written records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and maintenance checks.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate parts inventory and organization.
  • Properly fill out purchase requisitions for maintenance-related parts and supplies.
  • Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain the company's commitment to quality products and services with an emphasis on safety and integrity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of work experience in the food manufacturing industry, repairing and maintaining packaging equipment, electrical controls, and ancillary equipment is required.
  • Industrial Technical courses in maintenance or electrical repair are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting abilities are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond well to instruction and supervision.
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts, hours, and overtime when required.
  • Forklift driving experience is a plus; must become a certified Forklift Driver.
  • Ability to properly lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at high elevations, atop ladders or man lifts, on roofs, and underneath equipment.
  • Must be able to work in awkward positions for repairs.
  • Ability to work in industrial conditions such as hot, cold, and wet environments.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment and proper clothing for the job.

Additional Information

  • This role is performed on-site at a facility that processes tree nuts.
  • Employees will work in areas where tree nuts and related allergens are present.
