Overview

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Laborers for their manufacturing team, dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components and material handling systems. The role involves operating forklifts, assembling components, and ensuring quality and safety in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials within the plant.
  • Use powered and manual hand tools to accurately assemble metal components.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality assurance before advancing them.
  • Maneuver large or heavy parts manually or with crane assistance.
  • Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Perform other duties in various departments as assigned.

Requirements

  • Skilled in operating various hand and power tools in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts safely in a production environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch; blueprint reading experience is a plus.
  • Capable of performing simple calculations and reading instructions in English.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy items regularly.
  • Reliable in working scheduled hours and following safety procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain accuracy in daily tasks.
