Overview

The Maintenance Technician position at ND Packaging is essential for keeping the box plant operational by minimizing unplanned downtime and enhancing equipment reliability. This role involves ensuring maintenance tasks are performed safely and effectively, contributing to production efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment.
  • Perform all tasks safely and follow all safety procedures.
  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and execute maintenance tasks according to technical documents.
  • Troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems.
  • Use maintenance software programs effectively.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as lubrication and cleaning.
  • Conduct buildings and grounds maintenance including fire systems and HVAC.
  • Assist in project work and train team members on troubleshooting.
  • Move materials and equipment using various tools.
  • Identify and communicate equipment and supply requirements.
  • Ensure equipment operates at OEM speeds and optimal uptime.
  • Complete all documentation and paperwork thoroughly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work center meeting 5S standards.
  • Monitor and adjust plant equipment and instrumentation.
  • Record maintenance issues and repairs in the log system.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of production lines.
  • Participate in collections system maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 years of box plant experience.
  • Corrugator/Converting experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin or Spanish is a plus.
  • Mechanical and electrical repair skills.
  • Ability to read prints and diagnose issues quickly.
  • Proficient with hand tools and maintenance systems.
