Overview

Barry Callebaut is a global organization focused on growth and sustainability, seeking diverse and passionate individuals for the Mechanic, Maintenance I position. This role is essential for performing maintenance on manufacturing equipment and ensuring operational efficiency within the Maintenance department.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company standards, GMPs, food safety requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform routine field and shop repairs on plant assets and utility equipment.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance issues.
  • Support planned maintenance, scheduled outages, and emergency repairs.
  • Demonstrate mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with various personnel to coordinate work.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment as qualified.
  • Identify worn or damaged components and support spare parts inventory.
  • Document work performed and inspection findings in the CMMS.
  • Maintain tools, shop equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Support work outside primary focus areas as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least three years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Technical school, trade school, or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing common industrial plant equipment.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Welding, cutting, and light fabrication experience preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret work orders, PM procedures, and mechanical drawings.
  • Competent with computers, CMMS work order systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
