Overview

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer in the refrigeration and food equipment segment, focusing on innovative glass doors and intelligent merchandising technologies. The Piper II position involves laying out and installing refrigeration piping and components, ensuring systems are effective and leak-free.

Responsibilities

  • Must have experience and capable of all job requirements of a Piper I and must pass Piper II test.
  • Experience with all components of piping systems, including brackets, clamps and hangers.
  • Study drawings and plan where to place and install the piper based on production standards.
  • Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install copper and steel tubing.
  • Installs refrigeration valves, tubing, and fastening in place.
  • Cut and Braze Refrigeration Components.
  • Pressurizes and leak check units.
  • Understands Production Standards.
  • Proper Shipping Techniques.
  • Advanced Systems Piping.
  • Mechanical Layout of Secondary and CO2 systems.
  • Install & pipes oil reservoir.
  • Installs refrigeration valves, tubing, fastening in place.
  • Assists with Training of Piper I.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
