Overview

Graphic Packaging International is one of the largest manufacturers of paperboard and paper-based packaging for recognized brands in various industries. The Mechanic position is a journey-level millwright role focused on troubleshooting and servicing production and support equipment to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and service all production and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide technical support by operating equipment to locate and determine mechanical malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, tables, charts, formulas, and equipment instruction manuals.
  • Align equipment to specified tolerances and possess good knowledge of metallurgy and fabrication processes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, fans, and agitators.
  • Utilize burning and welding techniques as needed.
  • Work in a physically intense environment, lifting up to 74 pounds and performing various physical tasks.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of industrial experience as a first-class millwright.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to update job knowledge through educational opportunities.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts and overtime.
