Overview

MISTRAS Group is seeking an experienced NDT PAUT Technician for full-time or temporary positions based in Atlanta, GA, with travel assignments across the U.S. The role involves performing advanced ultrasonic inspections using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) methods in compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) inspections on welds, piping, pressure vessels, and structural components.
  • Set up and calibrate PAUT equipment.
  • Interpret and evaluate inspection data in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports and documentation.
  • Maintain inspection records and ensure quality compliance.
  • Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Work closely with customers, project managers, and inspection teams.
  • Support additional NDT methods as needed.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. as project demands require.
  • Work overtime, weekends, shutdowns, and outage schedules when necessary.

Requirements

  • Current Level II or Level III PAUT certification required.
  • Previous PAUT field experience required.
  • Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT-TC1A for PAUT is required.
  • Prior certification as an UTSW NDE Level II with one year experience or prior certification as Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on Phased Array or UTSW is required.
  • Strong understanding of ultrasonic testing principles and advanced NDT techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret codes, standards, isometrics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with corrosion mapping, weld inspections, and encoded scans preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the U.S.
