Overview

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks an Iron Worker Foreman for a project in Fayetteville, GA. The company performs installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel.
  • Supervise workers in performance of ironwork tasks, such as welding, bolting, and chipping, using portable power tools.
  • Coordinates activities of assigned craft workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
  • Interpret company policies to workers, and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule.
  • Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain time records.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable standards.
  • Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
  • Perform frequent safety inspections of work area, equipment, tools, and employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ironworker Journey level minimum of 4+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as confined spaces.
  • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, and working in confined spaces with limited access.
