Overview

Key Technology is a global leader in the design and manufacture of food processing technology, providing innovative solutions since 1948. As a Welder, you will work in a dynamic production environment to fabricate stainless steel equipment used in food processing, utilizing blueprints and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety while performing job duties.
  • Read engineering drawings and use fixtures, templates, and guides to build equipment.
  • Follow instructions from the Production Supervisor.
  • Measure component dimensions for welding accuracy.
  • Operate basic equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Lay out, tack up, and weld simple equipment and components.
  • Assist other welders with complex equipment.
  • Identify and repair weld defects according to quality standards.
  • Make welds acceptable to standards for arm brackets.
  • Recognize and apply weld symbols.
  • Support screen welding and weld vibratory and optical equipment.
  • Work on complex assignments requiring independent action.
  • Demonstrate ability and interest to weld any item.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Beginning computer skills.
  • 1.5 to 7.5 years of industrial welding experience depending on level.
  • Skills in GMAW and GTAW welding processes.
  • Knowledge of gas torch and plasma equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and blueprints.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.

  • Swing Shift offers a 4-day work week with a 15% shift differential.
  • Position is contingent on successful completion of weld written and practical tests.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
