Overview

Lake Air Products is a fast-growing contract manufacturer serving various markets, including medical and aerospace. They are seeking 2nd shift welders for their Roseville, MN location, particularly those with TIG/MIG experience who enjoy hands-on work.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.
  • Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance.
  • Develop templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy and welding techniques.
  • Examine finished products and spare parts to ensure specifications are met.
  • Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances using measuring instruments.
  • Weld metal using various types of welding arcs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to partner with a leadership team.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission.
  • Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Reading blueprints and performing necessary measurements.

What you'll be running

TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
